The Theatres

7 Stages

7 Stages is a professional, non-profit theatre company devoted to engaging artists and audiences by focusing on the social, political, and spiritual values of contemporary culture. 7 Stages gives primary emphasis to international work and the support and development of new plays, new playwrights, and new methods of collaboration. For over 40 years we have resided on the stolen lands of the Muscogee (Creek) people – these lands that we all know as Atlanta – and home. We are a global center for vital conversations through collaborative performance and continue to examine our role in creating a beloved community with the original inhabitants and all arrivals of this community through our artmaking. Youth Creates, our theatre training program for teenagers is gearing up! 5 weeks of all-things-performance this summer culminating in a student-created show from scratch. Applications available on the website.

Horizon Theatre Company

Sophisticated and funky, casual and friendly, Horizon is a welcoming home for professional contemporary theatre for diverse audiences – smart, funny, topical and provocative. Now in our 40th season in our intimate Inman Park theatre, our mission is to connect people, inspire hope, and promote positive change through the stories of our times. We produce a 5-6 play season of award-winning plays and stunning new voices that are all new to Atlanta from around the country and the world, our annual holiday musical for families (Madeline’s Christmas), and education programs for youth and early career artists. Join us for our final show of our 2024-25 season, LAUGHS IN SPANISH, a joyous comedy about an art heist, romance, and mothers and daughters set in Miami’s art district, running May 23-June 22, or an upcoming performance of our 2025-26 season, opening in August 2025. For the kids and grandkids, check out this summer’s Camp Stardust musical theatre camps with our partner Atlanta Children’s Theatre.

Dad's Garage

Dad’s Garage is a unique nonprofit organization transforming people, communities, and perspectives through laughter since 1995. While they are best known for their short form improv games – think Whose Line is it Anyway? – and longer scenes incorporating audience suggestions, Dad’s Garage is a creative incubator that performs original scripted shows, musicals, and sketch performances. In addition to free community nights and summer camps, Dad’s Garage has six shows per week, almost every week, with something for everyone – this includes Puppy Prov, an improv show that brings dogs onstage and promotes local organizations dedicated to supporting animals; the family-friendly Wowie Zowie returning in July; and a new, original immersive experiential show incorporating burlesque and scripted comedy, Murder on Vavianna Island, opening in June. Every show at Dad’s Garage is unique, fresh, and fun, and the theatre is proud to enter its 30th season come August 2025!
